Case Study : Tank Cleaning
Our client is a major blue chip company
with a redundant site. The site is mothballed, pending
full scale decommissioning at a future date. We were requested
to render safe and dismantle an on-site boiler water treatment
system. This involved the removal of residual strong acid
and caustic chemicals, the internal cleaning of the tanks
and the deconstruction of all associated pipework.
The task required our careful, planned approach to project
management due to the aged condition of the tanks and the
lack of on-site facilities. A structured plan of works were
agreed with the client to take into account the specific health
and safety concerns found during our investigative site survey.
A high degree of client involvement was undertaken at
every stage of the project.
The work was undertaken in a timely manner to our client’s
satisfaction and established a fresh approach for the client
should similar situations arise in the future.
